B.U. Sonawane, PhD (Production Engineering), is Assistant Professor (2005 – till date) in Department of Production Engineering and Industrial Management at College of Engineering Pune (An Autonomous Institute of Government of Maharashtra). He is a Mechanical Engineer with a masters having specialisation in Manufacturing Process Engineering. Earlier (2000–02), he worked in the Industry, as Operating Engineer. He has about 11 technical papers to his credit published in reputed national and international journals/conferences.
A recipient of K.F. Antia Memorial prize (Gold Medal) for the Best Research Paper published during year 2006-2007, by the Institution of Engineers (India) and Production Division Gold medal for the Best Research Paper published in Journal of the Institution of Engineers (India), Production Division, during year 2009-2010.
He has guided 11 M.Tech students and 4 Ph.D students are currently working under his guidance.
